Amber Rocks 2021

On November 2nd 2021 in London the Amber Rocks charity fundraiser returned to The Bloomsbury Ballroom raising vital funds for The Amber Foundation.

Guido designed and created a unique piece for the fundraiser. The piece was “Tranquillity, in a Dreambeat” and has been 2 years in the design process. The sculpture included diamonds, amethyst, crystals amongst other precious elements and is a beautiful centre piece and reflects the light in a breathtakingly way. 

Charlie Ross the Auctioneer said it was “Guido’s best work yet” it raised £20,000 for the charity. The winning bidder will display it in one of their London hotel’s so others will get to appreciate the beauty of it.

In addition Guido created unique drum centre table pieces which were sold at the end of the evening raising even more for The Amber Foundation.

Stephen Ballantyne, Head of Fundraising  & Communications for The Amber Foundation said “Guido has been hugely supportive of Amber’s work over the years, giving his time, skills and most importantly his passion. We are hugely grateful for everything that he does for us. The funds raised through the donation of his most recent sculpture will go straight to helping homeless young people get back on their feet and move on positively with their lives.”

The Amber Foundation has delivered something very special, helping young people transform their lives for 26 years. It has helped over 4,000 young people turn things around. Giving them time, space and support they need to overcome personal barriers; to learn new skills and behaviours and really move forward with their lives. Horse Power

Horse Power

In 2016 It was the Ferrari coming out of the tunnel with his left wheel crumpled sparks flying that inspired me to walk the tunnel after the race to see where he had clipped the wall, this was moment I first became aware of the melted tyre marbles which I perceived as a thing of wonder and started collecting.

We were lucky enough to return for the 2017 Monaco GP where to my delight Ferrari won, the team’s first one-two since Hockenheim in 2010. Monaco was also the venue that the team made their debut into formula 1, in the second round of the 1950 season.

Inspired by this we began our 11 month journey of creating two black stallions with the tyre snots reflecting the dynamics of the team, the drivers, the place, the race and the engines measured in horse power that gives the cars their speed which creates the friction with the circuits surface that melts the tyres.

If you look closely there are even stones from the roads encapsulated into the rubber.

Exhibited in the grandeur of One Marylebone and an honour to be purchased by the legendary ‘David Coulthard’ this sculpture celebrates man and woman and represent two forms of divine energy… they are the male and female elements of a single soul.

Sculpture may be the oldest of all the Arts. Classic Forms of emanation….the masculine form, which is bold, and the feminine form, which is more subtle. For a human being to lead a total life, he or she must have both forms of energy: the power of strength and the power of subtlety; the power of giving and the power of receiving. Ideally, these energies are merged seamlessly.

David Coulthard “Racing Helmet” Sculpture

How David Coulthard’s F1 racing helmet came to the Isle of Wight

Listen and read how Isle of Wight artist Guido Oakley had the honour of working with F1 Racing driver David Coulthard’s helmet (used in an actual F1 GP) to produce stunning works of art, sold at Monte Carlo auctions.

There are quite a few people on the Isle of Wight doing incredible things on the Global stage.

You often don’t get to hear about them as they just get on with what they do, but this time we were lucky enough to catch Isle of Wight artist Guido Oakley before he started a major and ambitious project.

Irreplaceable part of F1 history
With his latest project he’s been given the responsibility of handling something that cannot be replaced – the crash helmet that David Coulthard used in a Formula 1 race.

It’s all part of the continuing work that Guido is doing with the Amber Foundation – the charity that helps young people from the UK who have, through circumstance, lost their way, giving them a second chance, by providing accommodation for up to two years, while teaching them life skills and helping them rebuild their lives.

The link with F1? It’s one of the charities that ex-F1 team owner Eddie Jordan and his wife Marie supports.

The plan
Gudio’s concept was to take a cast of the Coulthard helmet and produce a limited number of sculptures from it – to be auctioned off for charity at the Amber Lounge in Monaco.

Guido has done much work with human forms and crystals, setting them in resin. It’s a skilled process that requires frequent attention for long periods, depriving him from consistent sleep.

We were delighted that the great photographer Julian Winslow didn’t take much persuading to come along and work his magic – shooting not only an amazing portrait of Guido, but the other great shots of around Guido’s studio.

The helmet has subsequently been returned to David Coulthard and the sculptures have been created – we plan to bring detail of that to you later.

Selenite Unicorn

Thunder & Lightning

A privelege to have been a part of a wonderful evening held at Royal Windsor race course on 22nd July 2015 in aid of Clic Sargent children’s charity.

‘Thunder and Lightning’ purchased by Anthony Gallagher, a British billionaire property developer, and the founder and former chairman of Gallagher Estates and Gallagher Developments.

The horse is regal and fierce in competition, having the heart of a legendary competitor. A magestic and magical animal, they feel your energy, they sense your nature, you must earn their trust, when you do they will take you to far away places, lands of enchantment, wonder and awe. This is the true spirit of Horse…..Freedom….the most sacred meaning of what it is to be the Horse. Freedom in every sense of the word, mind, body & spirit.

The white horse is made up of selenite an extremely sensitive crystal, that acts just like “liquid light” from the angelic realm and universe. The crystal striations are pathways for the illuminated substance of spirit.

The black horse is made up of shunghite and elite shunghite a crystal that is said to be around 2 billion years old, shunghite is a powerful ancient healing stone that is said to be almost pure carbon, found in the Karelia region of Russia.

‘3 Heads are Better than 1’ Collection

I had the honour and privilege of meeting Marie and Eddie Jordan through supporting the Clic Sargeant Charity and to my utter excitement was commissioned to make this piece for them. Created using thousands of pounds worth of exquisite, rare and breathtaking crystals, it was a pure joy to indulge in producing this beautiful piece of sculpture.
1st head being Rhodochrosite and Pink Sapphires and for the 2nd head, Vera Cruz and Brand-berg Amethyst and the 3rd head, Rose Quartz and Pink Kunzite and pink Tourmaline.
Rhodochrosite is a Great Mix of Energies combining the three forms of self, and covering both the poles and the middle of the chakra channel.  The most vibrant loving stone…the “Stone of Love and Balance” providing balancing and love on all levels.
Fast-acting Pink Sapphire clears out emotional blockages, enhances self-reliance, and attracts all that is needed for the user’s Spiritual Evolution. Pink Sapphire is also said to inspire love.
Sapphire is a form of Corundum, one of the hardest minerals on Earth. Sapphires form in many colors, depending upon the trace metals they contain.  said to be a stone of wisdom, the different colors of Sapphire each containing its own type of wisdom.  It can sustain life force and attracts joy and peace opening the mind to beauty and intuition.
