A stunning new creation by Guido auctioned by Sir Jeffrey Archer on 20th November 2014 in the magnificent awe-inspiring surroundings of St Paul’s Cathedral.
2.5 kilos of medicinal grade emeralds, Herkimer diamomd, 24 carat gold leaf, water clear casting resin, Farringford redwood base and l.e.d. spotlight.
This piece is a celebration of the fact that in essence we are all crystalline beings with the emphasis being a female head, reflecting the nurturing aspect of the divine feminine and all the qualities that emeralds imbue, set upon and lit up on a redwood base, from a Wellingtonia planted at Farringford by Alfred Lord Tennyson and General Giuseppe Garibaldi in April 1864, who had attained world celebrity status, something of a rarity in their day.
Emeralds qualities:
St. Hildegard of Bingen, the noted lithologist, declared, “All the green of nature is concentrated within the Emerald.” [Megemont, 80-81] Representing youth in the age of man, the power of this lush crystal stirs the soul like the heart of spring, symbolising hope and the future, renewal and growth. It is a Seeker of Love and a Revealer of Truth, inspiring an ongoing search for meaning, justice, compassion and harmony.
Emerald has been a source of fascination and reverence in many cultures for over six thousand years, sold in the markets of Babylon as early as 4,000 B.C. It was a stone worshipped by the Incas, believed by the Chaldeans to contain a goddess, and was highly honoured in all major religions for its spiritual power and beauty… considered a symbol of eternal life in ancient Egypt, a gift of Thoth, the god of wisdom, and was a favourite jewel of Queen Cleopatra.
It is the purest crystal of the green ray. It is a “growth crystal” – a powerful conduit of the earth’s Life Force of birth, development and creation, and of the power of nature’s constant renewal.
