I ran www.amber-rocks.org on Tuesday night in Town – a charity rock & roll evening, hosted by Eddie Jordan and Chris Evans. Van Morrison was the headline act.
Island companies were used wherever possible, with a nice twist for one collaboration – turning into something rather special…
I commissioned Guido Oakley in Ventnor to design the table centres – intricate resin Stratocaster guitars with a glowing 7inch record base. These were a huge hit on the night and every one was purchased by guests for a charity donation at the end of the evening. Sales Torque were marketing/branding/AV event producers and our studio created moving videos which stirred emotion during the evening.
Guido was moved by the charity’s work and offered to make a fabulous crystaline sculpture as an auction lot. This raised an outstanding figure, making it one of the highest earning items. The evening raised over £250k, and this figure seems to be growing daily, as the rich and famous who attended add their support to Amber Foundation’s good work.
